It’s also genuinely wrinkle-resistant, so it comes out of the garment bag looking the same as when it went in, and it’s breathable enough to wear comfortably whether your nikkah is in January or July. We use a Korean and Japanese-blended polyester, which is a noticeably higher grade than the standard polyester most UK shops stock.

Toyobo Fabric Thobes

If “Toyobo” is a word you’ve seen pop up more often on premium thobes lately, it’s not a marketing term — it’s a specific cotton-polyester blend finished with a Japanese-developed process, built specifically for thobes and jubbahs rather than adapted from shirting or suit fabric.

That finishing process is where the value sits:

• A cleaner fall. The finish gives the fabric a weighted, structured drape, so the thobe hangs properly from shoulder to hem instead of clinging or sitting stiff.
• Genuinely wrinkle-free. It holds its shape through a full day of sitting, travelling and standing.
• A subtler look. Less sheen than polyester, which suits grooms who want something understated rather than shiny.
• Light and breathable. The cotton base keeps it comfortable against the skin, which makes it a strong choice for UK summer weddings especially.

Cashmere Wool Thobes — Built for UK Winter Weddings

For a winter nikkah, we recommend our cashmere wool wedding thobes.

Cashmere is a finer, warmer fibre than standard wool — ounce for ounce, it insulates significantly better, which means you get real warmth without the thobe feeling heavy or bulky on the day. That same fine fibre structure is also what gives cashmere its signature drape — a soft, structured fall that standard wool doesn’t quite match, which is exactly what you want for wedding photos.

It’s worth being upfront about the trade-off: cashmere is warmer and less breathable than polyester or Toyobo, so it’s built for the colder months rather than a summer nikkah in the middle of the day.
